Correlations between stress and the Immune System
HPA Axis:
Hypothalmus → Anterior Pituitary → Adrenal Cortex → Cortisol Prodution
Cortisol acts as its own negative feedback

Parasympathetic System: "Rest and Digest" relaxing and calming effects, opium/dopamine
Sympathetic System: "Fight or Flight" adrenaline

Catecholamines: increased HR, breathing and main blood flow to main organs

General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS)
1st: Alarm → senses sharpened, feel less pain
2nd: Resistance → If stress persists body tires to adapt, "Adaptation Energy": limited resources
3rd: Exhaustion → Eventually energy sources depleted and body gives in
