Northern Blots Blots In General

Northern Blot: mRNA identification
-probe=swatch of DNA that is complementary to mRNA for gene we are interested in and enzyme tag is attached directly to DNA
Southern Blot: DNA identification
-Seperate DNA strands first so we can get something to stick to it.
Western Blot: protein identification
-anti-target antibody
-Secondary antibody against primary
